New bath styles you should consider

As with every other area of home design, from paint colours to light fitting baths, baths and bathrooms follow the trends. Over the years we have seen some somewhat questionable trends like the avocado coloured suites that were so popular during the 1970s.  What is popular one year might be out the next, only to be replaced with the latest innovative designs. Here we take a look at some of those new bath styles you might want to consider this year, and of course, some of them might just be things you have seen before that have made a reappearance onto the scene.

Art Deco

While Art Deco is one of those styles that has never really gone out of fashion, there is definitely a huge art deco influence to be seen in some of the most on-trend bathrooms of the moment. This is a classic style re-emerging with a nod to craftsmanship. Think geometric and somewhat angular designs with bold curves. If you are looking for something that will stand the test of time in your home, then this may well be the style for you.

Victorian

Thanks to a considerable following that seems to have been inspired by all the great period drama that has been on the television and also in the cinema, the Victorian bath has become one of the must-haves in any modern bathroom design. The classic lines of a freestanding roll top bath with ball and claw feet are the perfect addition to any bathroom where space is plentiful.

Black is back

The black bathroom, just like that wardrobe staple the little black dress, has never really gone away. This is a style that can be refreshed and updated over time. This year however it is black all the way, and certainly not an option for the faint hearted amongst us. The black bath will play just a small part in this dramatic look, but it is vital and surprisingly not nearly as severe as you would imagine. Remember the key here is to use to right accessories and fittings to lift everything to a new level.

Don’t forget the details

When it comes to your taps and accessories, Rose Gold is the must have at the moment and can really set off any of these bathroom styles. If this, however, isn’t your thing then you might like to consider pewter and gunmetal which are both proving very popular as well.
